How much does salon software cost in the UK?

Most systems charge a monthly fee. Some add commission on new clients, and AI phone answering is usually extra. Here is what each of the best-known UK systems charges, from its own website, and what Salonly costs.

Prices checked on 16 October 2026.

09:00The short answer

The short answer.

Published prices among the best-known UK systems start at £4 a week for Timely, which charges by the bookings you take, £14.95 a month for Fresha's one-person plan and £40 a month plus VAT for Booksy. Phorest gives prices by quote, and Treatwell does not publish its monthly fee.

Then come the costs that are easy to miss: commission on new clients from a marketplace (20% at Fresha, 35% at Treatwell, 30% with Booksy's Boost switched on), AI phone answering (£79.95 a month for Fresha's AI Concierge, from £69 a month for Treatwell's AI Receptionist), texts and card fees.

Salonly is £19, £49 or £99 a month, billed monthly on a 12-month term with the price fixed for those 12 months, with no commission and the AI front desk on every plan.

11:00Commission

What commission costs in a busy month.

Say a marketplace sends you 10 new clients in a month, and each first appointment is £50. This is what each system's new client fee comes to.

That commission buys you clients you might not otherwise have found. Fresha caps its fee on higher-value services, and Booksy only charges when Boost is on. Salonly has no marketplace: it is for the clients who already know you, and the ones you bring in through your website, Instagram and Google.

Is there free salon booking software?

Fresha, Booksy, Timely and Phorest do not show a free plan on their pricing pages, and Treatwell's invites you to start for free while referring to a monthly fee it does not publish. Free trials are common: Salonly 14 days with no card needed, Timely 14 days, Fresha 7 days and Booksy 7 days with no card needed. Phorest says it does not offer one.

What is the cheapest salon booking system?

It depends on how many people take bookings, how many bookings you take, whether you pay commission on new clients and whether you want the phone answered for you. On subscription alone, Fresha (£14.95 a month) and Timely (from £4 a week) start lowest for one person. If you want an AI front desk, Salonly Solo includes one (30 calls a month); Fresha's AI Concierge is £79.95 a month on top of its plan, and Treatwell's AI Receptionist is from £69 a month.

Questions about cost

How much does salon software cost a month?

Published prices for the best-known UK systems start at £4 a week for Timely (set by your bookings), £14.95 a month for Fresha's one-person plan and £40 a month plus VAT for Booksy. Phorest prices by quote and Treatwell does not publish its monthly fee. Salonly is £19, £49 or £99 a month. Prices checked on 16 October 2026.

Free trials are common: Salonly 14 days with no card needed, Timely 14 days, Fresha 7 days and Booksy 7 days with no card needed. Phorest says it does not offer one.

Why do some salon booking systems charge commission?

Because they run a marketplace, an app or website where clients look for salons. When it sends you a brand new client, the commission is what you pay for that client: 20% at Fresha, 35% at Treatwell and 30% at Booksy with Boost switched on. Salonly has no marketplace and charges no commission.

Is an AI receptionist included in salon software?

Not usually. Fresha's AI Concierge is £79.95 a month per location and Treatwell's AI Receptionist is from £69 a month. Phorest's Front Desk AI answers by SMS and WhatsApp, and Booksy's AI Receptionist is a beta on its US website. Salonly includes its AI front desk on every plan: 30 calls a month on Solo, 100 on Salon and 200 on Pro.

Do salon software prices include VAT?

Often not: Fresha, Booksy and Treatwell show theirs without VAT. Salonly is not registered for VAT, so there is none to add to our prices.
