Deposits that protect your time, paid to you
Choose which services need a deposit: none, a fixed amount or a share of the price. Clients pay by card when they book online, and the money goes straight to your own Stripe account. We take nothing.

Your money, your account
Connect your own Stripe account and deposits are paid into it directly. They never sit with us, so there is no waiting for us to pay you out.
Fair and clear, as UK rules expect
Deposits are shown before the client books, alongside your cancellation policy. They keep the deposit if they move or cancel within your policy, and lose it only in the cases you state, such as cancelling inside your notice period or not turning up.
Fewer no-shows to begin with
Clients get a confirmation and a reminder before their appointment (24 hours before unless you change it), with a link to move or cancel in good time, so the space can go to someone else.
Questions
Do you take a fee on deposits?
No. Deposits are paid to your own Stripe account and Salonly takes nothing. Stripe charges its own card processing fees on your account.
Can I take deposits on some services only?
Yes. Each service can have no deposit, a fixed amount or a percentage of the price.
When does a client lose their deposit?
Only in the cases your policy states and the client sees before booking, typically cancelling inside your notice period or not turning up.
Can hairdressers ask for a deposit?
Yes. Show the amount and when you keep it before the client books, keep it in proportion to what a missed appointment costs you, and refund it or carry it over when a client gives the notice you ask for. Our no-show guide has a policy you can copy.
